 Ömer Faruk Tekbilek in AFA
AFA continues to guide Turkish and Taiwanese cultures to know each other. In order to achive our mission we hosted a great musician on Sunday. Omar Faruk Tekbilek made a workshop about rhythm and scale for our members. Tekbilek gave samples from ney, zurna, baglama, def, bendir and darbuka during the event. Renowned artist answered questions heartily, sang some requested songs. Members did not miss the opportunity to take a picture with Tekbilek. Omar Faruk Tekbilek has been living in cosmopolitan cities. He uses Turkish folk songs, religious music, Arabic tones and Mediterranean melodies. He currently lives in USA. BBC nominated him for World Music Award in 2003. Tekbilek will have a concert together with Taipei Chinese Orchestra on Friday.
